This will be the fourth year straight at Scat Jazz Lounge and the ninth year of Ricki's Ring-A-Ding. Ricki and the Vegas Six return to the coolest lounge around for an all out party. A NICE MENTION IN RED ON GREENVILLE

Th following is an excert from RED ON GREENVILLE... Occasionally in life, little plain doors open to the most majestic of events. Treasures can be found right under our noses but often times we're too brazen to even glance. After spending a lifetime searching, one day, you'll find a diamond. I liken these events to my Sunday evening when I walked up the stairs into the belly of The Cavern and sat at a low table in a leather-backed chair, sipping on a single malt as I listened to Ricki Derek sing. Indeed his voice, as I have already mentioned, is truly unique and quite beautiful as he sings Sinatra, but I have to say the best part about the show is Ricki's unabashed yet delightful humor. He stands on what must be a 3x3 foot stage, his face lit by a single spotlight, his sharp pressed attire swaying while he sings, as his gifted sidekick romances the keyboard. He graces the crowd with a song, bar-goers set down their drinks to applaud, and Ricki begins his bit. Derek is amazing at any venue but I think playing in The Cavern suits his brassy charm. For all the laughs and entertainment, I was astonished that it was not a packed house. While I thoroughly enjoyed the breathing room, I feel it's my duty to share the wealth. This is quite possibly the most unique attraction Dallas has going on a Sunday evening... and it's free!

After a long hiatus from recording Ricki returns with a bang with his new self titled CD. This is a swingin' CD filled with the punch that only a 17 piece big band can deliver. Ten tracks of great songs from way back and some from the not so way back 80's. These original arrangements are exciting and a completely new take some classics.
